Hi, welcome! Thank you for coming on this journey while I learn a new way of reaching out and sharing. 2013 has started out as an exciting year. I’m painting as fast as I can and the ideas and plans keep piling up. People are bringing so much inspiration as well. One thing I hadn’t planned on was balance. I was afraid that if I got to dedicate all my time to art I would be bored and restless. Instead, I have holed up in my studio so much that the rest of the house has gone to pot. I’ll have to review that. I guess I still have to schedule time to clean and cook. It turns out I don’t naturally feel like doing it.
I have big plans for this newsletter. I hope to get it looking all beautiful and spiffy. I plan on sharing new prints for sale, give you special deals, show you works in progress and sneak peaks. There is so much to talk about and this is a great venue to narrow it down. Please stick around and see the upcoming improvement. Thank you for coming along on this bumpy ride. It will get smoother.
Here is a sneak peak for you. I’m waiting to share this complete painting until after it’s public debut Feb. 9. Next month I’ll be sharing how this painting came about from research, to sketch, some color pouring and final outline. This is a steampunk style to be featured at Zapow’s Steampunk themed show. If you can make it please come to the opening Feb 9 from 7:00 -9:00 for live music, free beer, and lots of art.
Here we are at the beginning. We’re mixing things up, trying out some new colors. This pictures shows the beginning to the steampunk painting. It didn’t begin on the final drawing. It began by testing some new watercolors and how they mixed together. They really helped set the mood and tone.
