Last month was Geek Out. The same week my website took a dive and I had to reconfigure things and couldn’t post my blog. The really cool thing though is I got to be featured on another blog, Multiverse! Check it out. Well, I love the geeks and weirdos at Zapow. To celebrate the Geek Out the theme for the gallery show was Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr. Who. That’s when I made my Sci-Fi Angels. It turns out no one else combined the shows. Oh well.
For the Geek Out promotion Zapow gathered super heroes and villians for a photo shoot. It’s so much fun working at the gallery. When has Darth Vader ever come to your job? By the way, now that I work at the gallery one day a month I have a larger art space!
At the last Zapow show I did illustrations of people in their Steampunk outfits.
For Geek Out I did the same thing of offering illustrations of people’s costumed characters. I had one taker, Steampunk Tinkerbell. She was super sweet and super fun and had made her costume herself. We talked what Tinkerbell might be doing, it turns out she fixes things so I suggested a coo-coo clock to help with indicate the scale of her small size.
I don’t know if Zapow will be having another show where I can find an excuse to illustrate people. If you have any sort of character that needs to be expressed contact me for a 5×7 illustration on illustration board. If you’re able to pick it up at Zapow I’ll include a free 5×7 print of my Sci-Fi Angels. Right now I am doing illustrations for $30 but that price is will only be valid until I’m famous. Let me know. Also, Steampunk Tinkerbell, come find me on Facebook. I haven’t heard from you since I mailed you the illustration. I hope you liked it.
