I don’t have art to share with you today. I am excitedly working on a new painting but I don’t like showing the sketch early. I am so excited for this painting so there’s a lot of pressure for it to turn out like what’s in my head. In my head it’s AMAZING. I also have an AWESOME graphic designer helping me turn some of my art projects into new or finished pieces! I am so excited to show you what will be coming up in the next few weeks.
This has been such a special time for me.
I feel like things are lining up, like magic is happening. I’ve moved on to working as an artist full time. That will soon move towards doing massage as well but right now I am so far behind on paintings and commissions I just want to see what happens when I get caught up and I have a big opportunity coming up in October to sell some art. Of course, catching up never happens but I have these 8 paintings that it seems I’ve had planned for a long time. Eight!
Can you imagine? I’m not a home health aide any more. I put my uniforms at the back of the closet. I will fill in occasionally – maybe even tomorrow. I will keep up on my CNA certification but now I can tell people I’m an artist. This week I’ve learned of so many opportunities to network and learn about marketing. There’s even a course I’m SERIOUSLY considering taking called “Being Awesome” which is exactly what I want to be! You should take a look at it. What would you pay to be awesome?
Tonight I got a new pair of artist earrings as well! I wasn’t even planning on it, every new phase in my life has a pair of earrings to go with it. The fact that these came by unplanned is an example of the change in the wind. These earrings are SO cool and so artsy. Pay attention to thecre8tiveflow, her Facebook page is full of amazing photos, art, and inspiration. These are bulbous acorns made from a swirly glass bead and hang A-symmetrical which I found quite ironic since I’m always seeking balance in my life. A-symmetrical is certainly more artistic. Maybe I shouldn’t worry so much about the perfect balance. My first week as An Artist I had such a hard time figuring out how to start my perfect artist day. Does it start with a walk? Yoga? QiGong? Meditation? Tai Chi? Sipping tea while I look on the computer? If I did all those things my whole morning would be gone – I learned that the hard way, although, it was a lovely morning.
I attended a full moon dance tonight. The whole message was about change and new seasons and opportunity. There’s an essay about it by Kate Stockman but I can’t find a link to it. I’ll get it to you. One thing really hit me is when we were told to “dance for those that can’t”. I’m trying to create all these habits and do all these things and sometimes it’s such a chore but what about those that can’t? It brought to mind this quote, another favorite of mine:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.
If you have an ability, a way of shining, you are obligated to live to your fullest ability – not if you feel like it, or if you’re not too tired, or when some other chore is done – there are those that can’t do what you have the ability and capability to do right now. Some people are physically unable, some are restrained by society or family or personal fear and limits. Do your thing, live your life to your fullest. You will inspire others and that makes the world a better place. Right? It’s a new season. Winter is coming ;D. What changes do you feel in the air? What step are you going to take to living to your fullest potential? What seeds are you going to plant for your winter crop?
Here is the complete essay by Kate Stockman:
We gather today, on this “once in a blue moon”, to honor the second full moon of this month. The first was at Lammas, a holiday that celebrates the first (and richest) cutting of the grain. This moon is leading us into a new season.
We dance to her silver orb sailing across a deep blue sky.
We dance to her soft blue light silently sliding through the forests at night.
We dance to her pirouetting among the stars in her steady, 28 day circle.
We dance to her face coyly peeking from behind veils of clouds.
We dance to her shining mirror, reflective and alluring.
We dance to the dream of the blue moon. To the recurrence of a pregnant celestial event within one month. We dance to our own fulfillment and fullness.
What fullness has this month brought you?
What dream do you hold for this coming month, as the leaves don bright colors and celebrate with their own dance?
James Allen wrote, “The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”
What dreams are you spinning for this coming month?
