Mom sent me a news article the other day. It was Dad’s story about the boat. I found the link to the St. Cloud Times article so now you can go see it for yourself, even if you already read it you should check out the comments. It’s really interesting how many people made a comment. So, after the big boat party some friends that came to visit told the paper. I guess Mom has been stopped at the grocery store by people who didn’t know about the boat 12 miles away. Diane wanted to bring out tour from the nursing home, and I think other people have asked to come out. I know that there is a boat in our barn but it was really refreshing to hear Dad’s words again as I read them in the paper.
Just a warning, St. Cloud Times only has the article up on the website for a short period of time before it goes to archives and then you have to pay to look it up.
I called Dad on Monday to say hi, he had called from the airport on the way out to Rhode Island to crew on a sailboat. Here when he answered he was already heading out to see. I could hear the engine going and he said he was trying to keep the books from sliding around on him. I hope he keeps us updated on his adventures. I can’t remember if I already wrote it but the guy that owns that boat that Dad has been restoring in the garage has another 65 ft sailboat. That sailboat has been in Rhode Island getting a new deck and now it needs to be sailed back to the Virgin Islands. The guy hired Dad, paid for his flight and now Dad gets to learn to sail for 2 weeks. How cool is that?
