Here are pictures of the week starting with last Saturday night. This is what I went and did right after finishing my log. A pirate party, dress up or walk the plank, how exciting.
Jason in his Gear Issue Pirate Costume. Did I tell you about Gear Issue? Yes, I did, it’s a place to check out sport equipment and costumes. Wendy and Sarah showing the true Polar Pirate. We were looking to put a penguin on our shoulder as well. Glad we weren’t the only one with the idea – we couldn’t find a penguin.
Before you know it I was “tattooing”. Of course, I “just so happened” to bring along some sharpies. It’s great with low light and some alcohol, everyone thought I was a master. The compliment was when people still had remnants of their tats the next morning.
Andre is a fire fighter. It’s nifty too because he’s really tall (please tell me you all have heard of Andre the Giant), in fact I think he’s taller than Simone. He tells me that he wants to make the skull into a real tattoo. Now I just have to go back and redraw it.
Dark at 5:00. Left: You know it’s a beautiful day when you can see the smoke rising straight up. In the background is a golf ball, it’s some part of a radio or satelite system or whatever. All I know is that we need them for our internet and phone. I think there is some differant golf balls for differant communication. Like I think that some of the science research requires their own golf ball. I’m not sure though. I think this is the one that picks up the signal from Black Island. I think it’s something to do with how low we are and the surrounding mountains. Who knows. Also note the snow on the vehicles. That is not from a snow storm. That was the 30+ mph the night before.
Last would be Emily and Stacy having a moment in the Rec Office. The Rec Office is such a cool place to hang out. Emily is there all the time. And that’s the pictures. I think this week I will try to get more touring photos of the station. There’s lots of places that you haven’t seen yet.
